Yang Chu, a Chinese philosopher (370-319 B.C.) was said to be one of the first philosophers of Taoist ideas and thought. In this body of metaphysical poetry entwined with the philosophical concepts of the universe, human nature and Zen meditation, Duane Locke’s creative, intellectual and emotional poems showcase his prolific metaphysical style and Eastern philosophical tone.
Some of the longer poems lose some of their meaning due to the length and broad concept, but better meaning and insight are gained by the very enjoyable shorter works.
Everyone here is sensible.
Has common sense,
Everyone here is kissing.
Everyone here is insane.
This is an enjoyable book of poems, an insightful read for those into Chinese philosophy and metaphysical poetry.
