Celebrity reporter Bailey Weggins is back, and this time she finds herself thrown into the center of a murder investigation where she might very well be the next victim. It begins with an innocent request from Chris Wickersham, the hunky actor who recently landed the leading role on the new television show Morgue. While he had a sexy romp with Bailey in the past, this time he calls out of his concern for his co-star and friend Tom, who has disappeared without a trace.
Bailey readily agrees to try to help Chris track down his friend, concluding it could do her no harm to ask a few questions. However, one clue leads to another, and then she finds herself unofficially spearheading a murder investigation that has all the elements of a Hollywood film. The story has no shortage of glamour, egos, deception and betrayal, mixed with racy affairs as one would expect from Cosmopolitan editor-in-chief and best-selling author Kate White.
As Bailey uses her seasoned investigative reporting skills (well-documented in White’s prior novels), she finds a growing list of people who might have been involved in Tom’s disappearance and uncovers secrets many people will go to great lengths to keep hidden.
Lethally Blonde is a quick, delightful novel that has arrived just in time to be placed on must-read summer reading lists. While the book certainly stands on its owns, its enjoyment can be enhanced if read poolside, with a cocktail, after a long day at work.
