After dozens of books on Black Sabbath, it's almost impossible to come at them with a new angle. Aberback's book manages to do so. This book isn't meant to be the last and definitive word on the legendary Birmingham quarter. Rather, this is aimed at the middle-grade reader who might be interested in the heavy metal foursome but don't want to wade through 400 pages of extensive research and quotations. Here, the band's history has been distilled down to eight chapters:

  1. Heavy Metal Hall of Famers
  2. Meet the Band
  3. From Birmingham to the Big Time
  4. A Hard Road
  5. Never Say Die
  6. Blizzard of Ozz
  7. Reunited
  8. Iron Men
There are also several appendix-like chapters including a timeline; discography; concert information; and more, making this a wonderful primer for younger readers in teaching them about one of the classic heavy metal bands of all time
